Kieschnick Honored

keischnickhitting2008-03-10-1205202700.jpgAUSTIN, Texas – Texas Tech junior right fielder Roger Kieschnick has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week by the Big 12 Conference following an outstanding week in which he helped pace the Red Raiders to a 4-1 record.

Kieschnick, a preseason All-American and native of Rockwall, hit an impressive .524 over five games along with a team-high 11 RBIs and four home runs.  His 24 RBIs and seven home runs lead the Big 12 Conference and he is just one home run away from the 30th of his Tech career.  For the season, Kieschnick has posted a .429 average along with seven doubles and two triples.

Kieshnick and the Red Raiders return to action on Tuesday as they will face the New Mexico Lobos at 4 p.m. (CT) at Isotopes Park.
