A suspected serial robber is behind bars after the gun he left behind at a crime scene in Lubbock leads investigators right to him.

33-year-old Rocky Hill has been charged with aggravated robbery.  On Monday, police say he tried to hold up Wayne's Convenience Store on the Slaton Highway.  Hill walked in with a shot gun and ordered everyone onto the ground.  Officials say he even fired off a couple shots before employees were able to wrestle the gun away.

Authorities used that gun to identify the suspect.  It was registered to Hill and they arrested him near Shallowater
Wednesday night.  The employees say they are glad their actions helped the investigation.

"It's probably not for everyone, but me and my brother did it and if it helped catch him, then great ... I'm glad he's behind bars so he can't hurt anyone else," says Sharonda Williams, one of the employees who helped get the gun from the suspect.

Texas Rangers say they believe Hill is the same man responsible for other robberies in Hockley County, Hale County, and Lamb County.  He's is in the Lubbock County Jail under a $250,000 bond.
