Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Paul Thompson threw for a career-high 309 yards and two touchdowns and Chris Brown rushed for 84 yards and two scores as 17th- ranked Oklahoma scored 24-unanswered points to beat Texas Tech, 34-24 in a Big 12 matchup. Thompson completed 24-of-31 passes with an interception, while Malcolm Kelly caught 11 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown for the Sooners (8-2, 5-1 Big 12), who have won five in a row. Graham Harrell completed 26-of-48 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns and a pick for the Red Raiders (6-5, 3-4), who were looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since September 23 and 30. Sooners wide receiver Manuel Johnson suffered a scary injury in the fourth quarter after he was leveled by Chris Parker. Johnson made a catch near the left sideline and Parker tackled the wideout with a helmet-to-helmet hit. Johnson fell to the ground unresponsive, dropping the ball as the Red Raiders recovered. The game was briefly stopped as Johnson was taken off the field on a stretcher. He appeared to be moving his arms and legs. With Texas Tech trailing 27-24, the turnover gave the Red Raiders possession on the Oklahoma 36-yard line. However, Texas Tech was unable to get anything going offensively and Alex Trlica`s 28-yard field goal attempt to tie the game sailed wide left. Oklahoma then put the game away with a 15-play, 89-yard scoring drive that was capped by Brown`s TD run from two yards out with 2:21 left to play. Texas Tech managed to get down to the Sooners` 36-yard line on its last possession of the game before turning the ball over on downs. The Red Raiders held a 24-17 lead after the first half thanks in large part to three Oklahoma turnovers that led to 21 Texas Tech points. The Sooners took an early lead courtesy of Garrett Hartley`s 28-yard field goal on their first possession of the game. Oklahoma then had a chance to quickly extend their lead as Calvin Thibodeaux picked off Harrell on Texas Tech`s next possession. However, the Sooners gave the ball right back as Jacob Gutierrez coughed the ball up on the next play. The Red Raiders responded with an eight-play, 76- yard scoring drive to take the lead. Harrell hooked up with Joel Filani for a 24-yard gain to start a string of five consecutive pass completions that brought Texas Tech down to the Oklahoma 31-yard line. One play later, Harrell hit Robert Johnson for a 30-yard touchdown that made it 7-3. Oklahoma answered with a touchdown of their own as Thompson hit Manuel Johnson for a 32-yard TD on the first play of the second quarter. Trlica evened the score with a 32-yard field goal on Texas Tech`s next possession. Manuel Johnson then fumbled the ensuing kickoff and the Red Raiders recovered before Harrell once again found Robert Johnson for a six-yard score that put Texas Tech up 17-10. Then, with just 1:43 left before halftime, Antonio Huffman stepped in front of a Thompson pass and ran it back 54 yards for a touchdown. Oklahoma, though, started to build some momentum heading into the break as Thompson hooked up with Kelly with a 40-yard score with 10 seconds remaining to bring the Sooners within a touchdown, 24-17. Hartley`s 24-yard boot with 4:50 left in the third brought Oklahoma with four and after Trlica missed on a 47-yard field goal attempt, the Sooners took a 27-24 lead early in the fourth quarter as Brown broke off a 40-yard TD run. Game Notes Filani caught five passes for 69 yards, while Robert Johnson finished with seven catches for 67 yards for Texas Tech...Before he got hurt, Manuel Johnson had six catches for 87 yards...Oklahoma owns an 11-3 advantage in the all-time series with the Red Raiders
