We first told you about a Syphilis outbreak in Lubbock Monday. Since then the Health Department has had dozens and dozens of calls from folks who may be at-risk.
Last year, there were nine reported Syphilis cases and already this year there are 11, and 10 from just the past month.
Ricky Vaughn with the Health Deparmtent says they can barely keep up with all the patients coming in.
"Weve had over 100 phones calls yesterday since the press release and weve tested about 45 people at this point after this morning and we have clinics going on this afternoon and well continue that until we see a lowering in the number of cases that were getting."
Testing and treatment is free at the Health Department and theyre still urging anyone who may be at risk for Syphilis to get tested.
