Lubbock, Texas (April 2, 2008) – The NAIA released their Baseball Top 25 Coaches’ Poll today, and Lubbock Christian University has moved up to the #2 national ranking.

The Chaps, with a 32-1 record, finished just eight voter points behind #1 ranked Lewis-Clark State College.and with six out of 21 first-place votes.  It is their highest in-season ranking since earning a spot as the #1 ranked team in the sixth ranking released by the NAIA during the 1984 season.  The ranking comes with reason.  The Chaps 32-1 start is the best in school history and they are currently the only NAIA program with less than two losses.

Lubbock Christian has won 25 consecutive games and they are three wins away from tying the school record of 28 consecutive wins.  They will seek to complete the task this weekend, as they host #5 ranked Oklahoma City University (35-4) for a three-game Sooner Athletic Conference set beginning with a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m.
