Rosendo Rodriguez was officially sentenced to death by lethal injection for the 2005 rape and murder of Summer Baldwin.
Although he will never stand trial for the the murder of Lubbock teen Joanna Rogers, her family says they feel closure.
"The trial is over and people are where the can start to build a lives again," said Joe Bill Rogers, Joanna's father.
When the day comes, Rogers and his wife, Kathy, plan to watch the execution.
"It's not so much to watch him die, but to make sure justice has been served," said Kathy Rogers.
It's been nearly four years since Kathy and Joe Bill have seen their daughter, and now they remember her and smile.
"I'll see something and it reminds me of my daughter," said Joe Bill.
"I see a big smile and a big nose and that's mine. If she's got blond or red hair, it's my daughter."
Joanna would have turned 21 this year, but to Kathy and Joe Bill she will forever be sixteen years old.
