The Texas Tech Football team announced today the signing of 26 athletes who will join the 2007 Red Raider football team. "I think it has a chance to be better than our outgoing class," said head coach Mike Leach. "What I see in this class are a lot of guys like Joel Filani that are good players now that have tremendous upside and continue to improve and do better. I think this class will have the ability to focus and finish and take their academics like that seriously and excel personally to a higher level than several members of the previous class probably did." Headlining this year`s class is the position in the trenches. The Red Raiders signing seven defensive lineman, and seven offensive lineman, the most of any positions. "We wanted to get offensive linemen, defensive linemen and receivers, and I think this class does this," said Leach. "I think its the best offensive line class that weve ever had here contrary to what the people who issue the stars might think. I want to thank our staff; our staff did a tremendous job as far as bringing this class together." Twenty-two of the recruits are right out of high school, three from junior college, and one from prep school. 2007 Recruits: Bobbie Agoucha (DL) 6-4, 315 Fr-HS Oklahoma City, OK/Putnam City North Jacob Amie (WR)6-4, 228 Fr-HS Tyler, TX/Lee Bront Bird (DB)6-4, 201 Fr-HS Odessa, TX/Permian Omar Castillo (OL) 6-6, 285 Fr-HS Roswell, NM/Goddard Taylor Charbonnet(ATH)5-9, 164 Fr-HS The Woodlands, TX/The Woodlands Aaron Crawford (RB)5-11,200 Fr-HS Memphis, Tennessee/Ridgeway Dominique Delpeche(OL)6-7, 338 Fr-HS Fort Worth, TX/North Crowley Lonnie Edwards (OL) 6-5, 315 Fr-HS Brownsboro, TX/Brownsboro Blake Emert (OL) 6-5, 375 Fr-HS Garland, TX/Sachse Sam Fehoko (DL) 6-2, 230 Fr-HS Honolulu, HI/Farrington Jared Flannel (RB) 6-0, 180 Fr-HS Brazoria, TX/Columbia Jacoby Franks (WR) 6-2, 180 Fr-HS Orange, TX/West Orange-Stark Jerrod Gooch (OL) 6-5, 290 Fr-HS Vidor, TX/Vidor Rashad Hawk (WR) 6-3, 180 Fr-HS Copperas Cove, TX/Copperas Cove Daniel Howard (DE) 6-3, 240 Jr-JC Wichita, KS/Butler County C.C. *Adam James (TE) 6-3, 200 Fr-HS Celina, TX/Celina Justin Keown (OL) 6-4, 285 Fr-PR Anderson, SC/Hargrave Military Academy Jonathan LaCour (P/K) 6-2, 190 Fr-HS Kingwood, TX/Kingwood *Lyle Leong (WR) 6-2, 180 Fr-HS Abilene, TX/Abilene Detron Lewis (WR)6-0, 190 Fr-HS College Station, TX/A&M Consolidated Stefan Loucks (QB) 6-2, 185 Fr-HS Little Rock, AR/Pulaski Academy David Neill (DL) 6-5, 260 Fr-HS Flower Mound, TX/Marcus Mickey Okafor (OL) 6-6, 305 Fr-HS Houston, TX/Westbury DeShon Sanders (DB) 6-2, 205 Jr-JC Hobbs, NM/City Coll. of San Francisco Brandon Sharpe (DE) 6-4, 240 Jr-JC Lyons, GA/Fresno City C.C.
