Three car bombs exploded in West Lubbock County on Thursday and trainees were left trying to piece together what devices were used in the explosions.

It was all part of the annual Post Blast Investigation School held by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. ATF officials say explosions occur almost daily around the country, from kids blowing up mailboxes, to criminals trying to cover up crimes, and law enforcement officers need to be prepared to investigate who and what caused them.   Police officers and bomb technicians from Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, Abilene, and Amarillo took part in the "real life" training exercise.
