hitandrunlooklive2008-05-08-1210305887.jpg               A suspect is in custody tonight after a hit and run crash in Southeast Lubbock in which one man died and two others got hit.
Police say Rochelle Ranson hit a motorcyclist at 50th and Avenue U and when a pedestrian tried to stop her from driving off, she hit the pedestrian too.  The motorcyclist, 55-year-old Monte Wampler was rushed to UMC where he later died and the pedestrian went to Covenant with moderate injuries.
Witnesses say about a block away from where Ranson hit the first two victims, she hit yet another pedestrian.  That person did not sustain injuries.
Police eventually caught up with Ranson at the Super 8 Motel off of 1-27 and arrested her.  She is being held pending charges, but we don't know what she will be facing at this time.  Police say it is possible Ranson was driving drunk, but the investigation is not complete.
We'll keep you updated on new details as they become available.
