CITYGAS-VO2008-05-28-1212028517.jpgHigh gas prices are also taking their toll on the City of Lubbock.

This time last year the city had spent 60 percent of their fuel budget.

This year the've spent roughly 75 percent and there's still three months left in the fiscal year.

That's a big chunck of change according to city officials.

Big enough that they will have to begin holding off on filling city positions as they open.
