Unsolved Case from 2000

         Eight years after the murder of a Texas Tech student, the young woman's killer remains on the loose.

          Stephanie Hill was just 19-years-old when firefighters found her beaten to death inside her North Lubbock apartment. Now, eight years have gone by with no arrests in the case, but investigators say they haven't forgotten about the Texas Tech senior, and they don't want the public to either.
        It was May 29th, 2000 when police say Hill came home from her job at the Outback Steakhouse and less than an hour later, a fire crew found her dead inside her Indiana Village apartment.  Police say she died from several blows to the head and it appears her killer started a fire to cover the crime.  Witnesses did report seeing a young man leave Hill's apartment just before the fire broke out, but witnesses and police were never able to identify a suspect.   Eight years later, investigators still have no suspects, but they say they are actively working on leads, and new information from the public could help them finally find the killer. 
       Lt. Jon Caspell with the LPD says, "Any little thing someone could remember about anything around that time, around that apartment complex, certainly could benefit us in the investigation."
