Graduation was a bit different for a student and her family at Lubbock high school's ceremony. While it's usually a time for celebration, it was a bittersweet day for one Lubbock mother. Two years ago Patricia Anthony watched her son Jerome walk across the graduation stage. Jerome spent time in the Air Force and was employed at Pyco Industries. Just months ago she lost him in a tragic accident he suffered while on the job.

As her daughter graduated from Lubbock High today, she says it was both a very proud and very tough day. "It's real hard, but we just gotta keep our heads up cause we knows he's smiling down at us. She had a hard time earlier today, but she knows Jerome was watching over her. We just gotta keep our heads up, keep going, but this would've been a good day to have him here, to see her graduate."
