TRUCKSALES-VO2008-06-04-1212630687.jpgSkyrocketing gas prices have many people driving down the road to change. Over at Shamrock Chevrolet, they say truck, suburban, and SUV sales are down while car sales are on the rise. Customers looking to trade in their gas- guzzlers are getting far less for their vehicles than in years past. But dealers say for some Lubbockites, the truck or SUV has just become a way of life. "when you get used to driving something, a lot of times you do priorities, " says Tommy Stalling, General Manager of Shamrock Chevrolet. "What are you going to give up in order to keep the Suburban or what are you going to give up to put gas in the Tahoe? And thats what families are having to do right now." Says Misty Green, a mom of 2 "Our family got bigger so we needed a bigger car, but of course I would have loved a smaller car, but with a bigger family and the strollers and such, you need a bigger car. Now Im kind of regretting it."
