By: Russ Poteet
Updated: February 17, 2011

Lubbock ISD police chief Mark Hinshaw has been placed on paid administrative leave after an incident at a Lubbock bar Thursday night.

Sources tell us police were called to La Diosa in the depot district about 11:00pm.

They say he had a disagreement with his former girlfriend, appeared intoxicated, was armed and refused to leave.

But police say he was not arrested.

 Lubock ISD statement:
Lubbock ISD has placed Mark Hinshaw, police chief, on paid administrative leave. It is our understanding the Lubbock Police Department is investigating a disagreement that occurred between Hinshaw and a former girlfriend while Hinshaw was off-duty at a local restaurant.  Hinshaw will remain on leave while the district conducts a thorough internal review.
