Sheriff's Deputies Injured

An overnight domestic violence call leaves two sheriffs deputies in the hospital. Deputies Jordan Gladman and Brian Theime Responded to the call around 4:00 Monday morning at 2625 gGannon in North Lubbock County. 45 year old Brenton Shadden had barricaded himself in the bathroom. When officers tried to enter the bathroom, Shadden threw a knife at them and began to strike them with a long wooden handle. Officers tased him and he was taken to the hospital. Both officers were taken to UMC for treatment. Says Paul Scarborough of the Lubbock Sheriffs Dept, "One deputy had a severe blow to the forearm and a glancing blow to the head. The other deputy received a blow to the elbow and one to the ribs. Domestic violence is always dangerous, youre just put in a bad situation everytime something like that happens." Shadden was charged with aggravated assault on a public officer. The deputies have been released from the hospital.
