High Gas Prices Interrupt Holiday Travel Plans

Seems for a lot of folks around The Hub City, high gas prices forced them stay in town this 4th of July weekend. While prices continue to soar at the pump, many families travel plans were interrupted. We spoke to families who say they wanted to travel but just couldnt afford to head out of town. Many who left the South Plains this weekend carpooled to save. Those who stayed remember how much easier it used to be to leave Lubbock for the 4th of July. Says Lubbockite Gerald Castill, "We could afford it, we could do whatever we want to. Nowadays it takes about $60 or $70 to fill up this vehicle right here, and thats money I can use for other things."
