Some South Lubbock residents are concerned about a rumor that a halfway house is moving into the neighborhood. It all started when radio host Paul Beane talked about the possibility on his radio talk show. The discussion centered around the Coachlight Apartments at 81st near Indiana being renovated and turned into a halfway house. Bean says he was only "chasing a story." Now Tommy Mantooth, owner of the apartment complex, says hes been flooded with calls. "A twenty second phone call and I could have told them that that was not the truth. But no one bothered to call, no one checked the story out or anything, " says Mantooth. Beane did tell his listeners he was working on contacting management for the complex, and that he got the information from a homeowners meeting.
