Police have been looking for the man they say tased and attempted to rape two women in Lubbock county.  Their search ended early Tuesday, at the home where the suspect grew up. Timothy Shawn Barbian was arrested at his parent’s home. Several neighbors we spoke with hadn't any idea of anything going on. This arrest, is not Barbian’s first. But here in Plainview is where his record began.

In 1994, he was charged with 2 counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, forgery, and possession of a firearm by a felon. In 2002, he was arrested for indecent exposure and assault by Plainview Police. Barbian spent the last two years in prison on several counts of possession of a firearm.  He was released just last month. Now -- he's back in custody. Neighbors who knew Barbian say he was never too much trouble growing up. Others say they’re just shocked it could happen.

But with Barbian’s criminal record as it is, Tuesday’s arrest shows it was as if he knew it was coming. “They met with our officers, we went to his parents house where he'd been staying,” said Captain Michael Carroll of the Plainview Police Department. He was arrested without incident. He came to the door, gave himself up, and was taken into custody.
