Well you can rest easy.

The Texas Department of Agriculture is in charge of inspecting the gas pumps in Lubbock every four years.

They check to see if the pumps are shorting customers on gas, beyond an acceptable level.

In the last 2 months, there have been no incidents of gas stations 'out of compliance' in Lubbock.

Regional State Inspector Richard Rendon says stations in Lubbock are very well maintained.

Rendon says, "They're pretty aware that we're out here doing our job and if we get a complaint they know we'll be out there as soon as possible."

The TDA says about 5% of Texas gas pumps inspected in 2007 gave the wrong amount of fuel or were improperly maintained.
