ASB Announces Merger with Houston Bank

American State Bank announced plans to merge with the Houston giant Prosperity Bank.
ASB says they intend to combine their 37 banking offices spread out across 18 counties in West Texas with Prosperity to total up to 215 banks across the state.
They say they do not anticipate any lay-offs following the merger in fact they may even have additional openings.
They will be changing their name following the merger but ASB says most changes will not affect the consumer.
ASB was first established in 1948.
