LUBBOCKTOAFRICApkg2008-07-21-1216692349.jpgMonday afternoon, 10 Hub City residents embarked on an adventure, leaving Lubbock and heading to Africa for a medical mission trip. The team is part of the group Operation H.O.P.E. -- which stands for Healing Outreach for People Everywhere. Theyll be doing medical and community work in the african nation of Malawi. Lubbock surgeon Dr. John Thomas will be leading the team. He says the needs of the country are huge, but the goal is to make a difference however they can: "The needs never been so great. One of the things that I like to do is to give them hope, and by giving them hope I mean taking care of whatever the need is. We can talk all about change, but talk is cheap." The team will be back on August 1st.
