MOBILEWASHERSpkg2008-07-23-1216863784.jpgThis summer mobile washers have dealt with high gas prices, record temperatures, and now theyre facing city ordinances. Under a current state law, mobile car wash discharge is not allowed. So city officials are working on a city permit that would allow washers to stay in business. Theyre hoping the new ordinance will go into effect this fall. "Were looking at a permitting system for mobile car washes to come and get a permit and fill out some paperwork, get some education on what they can and cant do," says Storm Water Engineer Mike Keenum. Right now, the Storm Water Department is working out the details, and the ordinance will have to go through city councils vote before it can take effect.
