DOLLYTECHpkg2008-07-24-1216950548.jpgAs now-Tropical Storm Dolly began to surge earlier this week, Tech researchers headed straight into the storm to gather vital information. The Tech team headed off to Harlingen on Monday. They deployed instruments to gather weather data as the storm passed through the area. They say the goal is to better understand how severe weather works, so people can build structures that will withstand those storms. Says TTU Professor John Schroeder, "No one ever wishes a hurricane on anyone, but certainly if ones gonna happen, Id like my team to be there in order to collect data and better prepare society to handle the next one. Thats what its all about is making advances to help society."
