CKingslogosm2007-06-06-1181164906.jpgThe Lubbock Cotton Kings sent out an email to ticket holders this week informing them the team would not return to Lubbock.

This is a copy of the email sent out by Stacey O'Brien, Director of Community Relations & Game Operations:

As many of you are aware, negotiations with the City of Lubbock on a lease for the 2007-2008 season have been ongoing for some time. In light of recent developments, it has been decided that a fair agreement between the two parties cannot be reached. Therefore, it is with great regret that I announce the Cotton Kings will no longer be operating in Lubbock, Texas.

Despite this sad news, we would like to extend our most sincere thanks and deepest gratitude for the outpouring of support we have received throughout our eight-year tenure. It is because of you, our loyal and dedicated season tickets holders, that we have experienced the success of past years, and also the reason it is so hard to go. We thank you for allowing us to become members of your family, to become your neighbors and friends, and for allowing us to be a part of your lives from the drop of the puck in October to the final games in March. You have truly touched us and we hope in some small way, we have done the same in return.

For those of you who have already put down money for the upcoming season, refund checks will be sent out by July 1st.
