When it comes to finding a spot for Lubbocks new animal shelter, Mayor Martin says all parks are out of the question. The Animal Shelter Advisory Committee met Thursday to discuss plans to build. But before they can build, they need to agree on a location. Martin says as far as hes concerned the committee, and city, are back to the beginning of finding an appropriate location. "Mcallister had a lot of problems. And when I served on the council before we knew that traffic ingress and egress was the biggest problem for that piece of land for anything, more especially an animal shelter," says Martin. The advisory committee plans to meet again next month. At that point theyll work with city council members to find a suitable location for this new shelter.
