A North Lubbock resident is looking for a hero, or at least someone willing to clean up his back yard. Walter White says the weeds near his home on North Memphis are out of control. Hes concerned that some of the dry plants may help spread a fire if one starts in the fields near by. White says hes spent the last six months on the phone with the city hoping to get someone to come out and mow, but has seen no results. "We dont know who to talk to, who wants to stand up and be a hero. Thats what we need, is somebody to stand up and be a hero and be accountable for the lack of service in this area," says White. If youre like White and have a weed or rubbish problem in your neighborhood, you can call the citys Weed Hotline at (806) 775-2290.
