LUBBOCK, TexasTexas Tech officially kicked off preparations for the 84th season of Red Raider football as 105 student-athletes reported to the Football Training Facility on Sunday afternoon to wrap up last-minute paperwork, before Monday’s first preseason workout.

 

The players met with members of the compliance, academics and athletic training areas during the afternoon, prior to meetings Sunday evening. The Red Raiders will hit the practice field behind the Football Training Facility at 8 p.m. Monday. The team will work out at 8 p.m. each night through Friday.

 

Texas Tech’s first two workouts, Monday and Tuesday, will be conducted in shorts and helmets, then in shoulder pads for Wednesday and Thursday’s practices. Thursday’s practice is slated for the Jones AT&T Stadium turf. The team will return to the practice fields Friday in full pads. Currently, each practice from Saturday through Sat., Aug. 16, will begin at 3:30 p.m. The squad will work out Sun., Aug. 17, at 8 p.m., before taking its first day off Mon., Aug. 18. The team will not conduct two-a-day practices.

 

The annual Autograph/Fan Day is scheduled for Fri., Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. on the stadium turf. As always, fans are encouraged to bring their cameras and items for the Red Raiders to sign.
