Police say the 39-year-old drowning victim was last seen above water about 6:25 Sunday night, then about an hour later, emergency crews pulled his body out of the lake and officially declared him dead around 7:45 pm. Police say Robert Zuniga was having a picnic with his family at the Buddy Holly Recreation Center, when he decided to get in the Llano Estacado Lake to cool off. His family says they noticed him struggling as if he was caught on something and then he went under. Police say several of the witnesses jumped in to try to save Zuniga, but they were unable to find him. Police are investigating to figure out exactly what caused Zuniga to drown, but say it does not appear his death is suspicious.
