On just one day of rest after winning the 10,000 Meters at the NCAA Track Championships, Sally Kipyego could not hold off the steady onslaught from Wake Forest's Michelle Sikes. Kipyego was going for the sweep of the distance titles, already winning national titles in cross country, the indoor 5,000 Meters and 10,000 Meters, and the outdoor 10,000 Meters on Thursday. No other female has won five individual national titles in a year. Neither has Kipyego.

Sikes pulled away on the final lap to finish with a time of 15:16:76, the fastest time this year.
