Frenship ISD Talks About Teacher Drug-Testing

Just a day after officers found 50 marijuana plants and growing supplies inside former Frenship school teacher Ryan Glenn's second home, the school district is talking about mandatory faculty drug-testing.
Officials at the school were shocked to hear about Ryan Glenn's arrest. Last week's arrest of the former social studies teacher and coach at Frenship got the ball rolling. Police raided his first home on 16th Street last Thursday and found heroine, marijuana, and pills thought to be ecstasy. He was arrested, and resigned Friday from Frenship.
Just Monday, the Narcotics division raided his second home off 26th Street and found all the marijuana plants and supplies. Now, Terry Kinard says they will look into drug testing their teachers to protect the safety of the students.
"Our superintendent will probably want to talk about it, say what could we do here to get some input from some people. It's easy right now, I could ask any parent in the district if we oughta do that and under the circumstances right now, me being a parent included, yes!! How soon can we start? Anything we could do to protect our kids, then that's what we would want to do."
Kinard says their plan is to try a study asking teachers and staff how they would feel about drug testing, and present the results to the school board.
