Lubbock High was looking for their first win in two years. Cooper came in with a two-game winning streak.
And this one was fast from the star.
On Cooper's first drive, Travis Windham found McLane Sanderson for the first touchdown of the game.
But the Westerners answered. Quarterback Layven Armendariz found Dominique Zuniga to tie it up at 7.
Then the turnover bug bit the Pirates. Erin Lopez returned a Cooper fumble all the way to the end zone.
Later, another touchdown from Amrendariz but Cooper eventually got the best of the Westerners, winning 29-21.
