10-year-old Efrian Ruiz was prematurely born weighing only three pounds and suffering from Ventricular Septal Defect that caused refrain to be born with four holes in his heart.
Efrian has undergone four heart surgeries and has a pacemaker not necessarily the ideal childhood his grandmother planned for her grandson.
But on Saturday Efrian suited up in his cowboy gear just like Woody from his favorite move "Toy Story"
Efrian received a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, a shirt, pants and a belt and belt buckle all from the generous cowboys at Dollar Western Wear.
Efrian was ready to hit the rode traveling more than an hour south of town to the Griffin Ranch.
Now they say cowboys are the strong silent type and Efrian proved that to be true.
But after a few rounds in the pin of learning how to ride Maggie, the horse, Efrian quickly got a hold of the reins.
At the Griffin Ranch, Efrian was all hat, cattle and even buffalo.
After learning the ropes to becoming a cowboy, from cowboy Ben, Efrian received a letter letting him know "Real cowboys need nothin' more than a hat, a horse and the will to ride."
