Minutes before Cleve Foster was given the lethal injection, he expressed his love for God and his family. He said when he closes his eyes, he'll be with his father. Foster was convicted for the 2002 murder of a Ft. Worth woman. He was also implicated in the death of Rachel Urnosky, a Texas Tech Student.
Rachel's parents spoke to KAMC News last year.
"I want to admit what he did, I want him to say sorry," she said.
Prior to Tuesday night, he was spared from execution three times. During that time, Foster had time to think about his final words. He expressed his love for his family, grandson and friends. And on the night of his execution, he never proclaimed any guilt or innocence, just that he was ready to meet his Maker.
But Rachel's mother, Pam, said if he goes to heaven, he won't only be met by God.
"If Foster repents and asks God into his heart and goes to heaven, Rachel will be at the gates waiting for him that's the kind of person she was," she said.
