The top 15 percent of colleges and universities from across the nation are chosen for "doing the most to embrace America's military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus."

Ryan Van Dusen, Assistant Director of Military and Veterans Program at Texas Tech said, "Our faculty and staff are committed to the success of veterans. Our office is a resource, but we have expanded outward and everyone on campus is committed to making sure our veterans graduate"

"I actually investigated a range of schools and Texas Tech was the one school that actually reached out to me as a veteran and helped me get into the process as I left the military," said Derrick Mills, a veteran and Civil Engineering Student at Texas Tech.
