"Look at it, it's going and it's going nicely," said Kyra Jenkins.
Kyra Jenkins, the President of the 34th Street Association, said the road construction is on schedule.
"Today they moved, the first half mile is completed, and they've moved the barricades down and they're going to start on the second half," said Jenkins.
Jenkins said each half mile of road is completed in six months, so all that's left for this piece are some finishing touches.
"We've got the lights up over here on the north side, we lack some of the pavers and some for the lights on the south side, and then this half mile section will be totally done," said Jenkins.
Now it's time to move on to the next stretch, right in front of Jacey Jester's forty year old business. The owner of Jester Art Service, said she's looking forward to seeing the strip in front of her business completed.
"I'm very anxious to get our sidewalks and our paving stones and get our lighting, lights up, so I can see how it's really going to be in our little block. But I think it looks wonderful. And I think it's going to do a lot to boost business on 34th street and also to make it nicer for people to come and shop on 34th," said Jester.
