Fans lined up at the civic center early Friday to get George Strait tickets the moment they went on sale to the public. Unfortunately, due to the high demand, many fans left without those tickets.

"The whole thing was a problem," said Shane Lance after he was unable to get tickets.

"Well, uh frustrated," said Eric Metze about his experience waiting for tickets.

Both Lance and Metze left disappointed. "Me and about 30 people were here about 8 this morning and the next thing we knew we got inside and they were like oh, by the way we gave out 100 wristbands yesterday and all hundred of those people are going to get in line in front of you," said Lance.

Those wristbands were part of a drawing which allowed those fans to line up ahead of anyone else waiting without wristbands.

"Yesterday afternoon about 3:30 to ask the best way to get tickets, and the girl on the phone said you just come up here early and you can get tickets," said Lance.  He said he was unaware wristbands were being given out, or else he would have tried to get one.

Ingrid Karousatos drove from Levelland to wait in line for tickets for her and a group of friends, but was only offered single seat tickets when she got to the window.  "He told us there were only single tickets, well then you think about do I want to sit alone, or do I want to sit with someone else, and a lot of people left at that point," said Karousatos.

The ticket office has since created a wait list in case anyone decides to give up their tickets. Karousatos put her name on the wait list, but not everyone did.  "11 people put their names on a waiting list, but the waiting list doesn't guarantee anything," said Metze.

A representative with United Spirit Arena said these types of sell outs are good for Lubbock because it keeps big name artists wanting to perform here, even though some fans are disappointed.
