Overnight Fire Destroys Lubbock County Home

By: Allison Morrison
Updated: October 15, 2012
Investigators are looking into the cause of an overnight house fire in Northeast Lubbock County.

The fire broke out sometime after 11:00 Sunday night in a mobile home on East FM 40.

Fire crews from Idalou and Roosevelt responded.

We're told the home is a complete loss.

Firefighters say the blaze started in the back of the house and there was a man inside the home when it was started.

The man was able to escape the fire.

He told KAMC that he felt fortunate he had just moved his mother out of the house and into a retirement home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
