Residents Receive Apology After A Racial Slur

Residents and the New Orleans Apartment manager had a fall out after a letter residents said was a racial slur.
"When you write it and you send it out you know that you cant take it back then," said Wilson Perry.
The letter addressed noise complaints, but the seven residents who received the letter, all of them African American, said it was racist.
The letter said, "If you cannot tolerate noise or any commotion we suggest you find a place in the jungle."
"When it comes down to find you a place in the jungle that was racially motivated," said Perry.
But after complaining to KLBK, the residents said the apartments are apologizing.
They received another letter, saying, "Unfortunately and much to our embarrassment that letter showed careless diction that has offended some of our residents."
When we first spoke to apartment manager Juan Arcos... He did not apologize but said he was embarrassed that his name was on the letter to begin with.
The owner has not returned any of KLBK's calls to comment on either letter.
But residents say they are glad the apartment apologized, and they are moving on.
The men also think speaking out may have also pushed management to fix a couple of things around the complex including stair they thought would never be repaired.
