New Security System for Christ the King Private School

Just in time for back to school -- one local private school has amped up their security with a brand new state of the art system.
Today was the first full day back to school for Christ the King, and with a new year... they've brought in new security. Fortunately, it's pretty quiet around here in terms of safety. But they say it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the children.
With 400 students within these walls, school officials say it's important to make sure every one is protected.
The new system was installed in the spring to allow for some run-through time, but this is the first time it's been put to use.
Now, all doors lock automatically to monitor who goes in and out. And cameras throughout the school allow 24-hour surveillance. So if something happens overnight, LPD is notified and can then contact school officials.
Principal Christine Wanjura says knowing it's there, is a good feeling to have whether they’re in our out of school.
Wanjura: "I think it makes us feel more secure, we've not had any problems here at this school with security, but I think it's better to be proactive rather than reactive and so that was part of the reason we put this system in.”
The system was paid for completely by a donation from one of the student's relatives in
