Texas Tech Holds On and Wins an Epic Over TCU

By: Red Raider Nation Staff
Updated: October 20, 2012
Texas Tech and TCU hadn't played a conference game since 1995. And the reincarnation of the series didn't disappoint. The Red Raiders held on in a tight, triple-overtime tilt with the Horned Frogs, winning 56-53.

After TCU took the lead on a Jaden Oberkrom field goal in the third extra frame, Seth Doege found Alex Torres in the end zone to clinch the victory. It was his second touchdown grab of the day. Doege continued his efficient ways, completing 30 of 42 passes and a career-high seven touchdowns.

The victory sets up Texas Tech for a showdown with Kansas State in Manhattan, KS next week.
