1. Sandy Barrels Towards Bahamas

Hurricane Sandy is less than 150 miles from the Bahamas with wind speeds of 85 miles an hour. Overnight forecasts show the storm slowing down and turning northwest during the day. Experts predict at least $1 billion in damage.

2. NY Mom Finds 2 Kids Dead in Tub

A mother came home to find her two children stabbed to death in their luxury apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side on Thursday. Their nanny was found in the apartment with self-inflicted stab wounds. She has been arrested and is in serious but stable condition.

3. Malala Yusufzai Showing No Signs of Brain Damage

Malala Yusufzai, the 14 year old Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban, is now speaking and is showing no signs of brain damage. Her parents are currently visiting their daughter in a hospital in the UK for the first time since the incident.

4. Romney up 50-47 on Obama

Day four of our ABC News/Washington Post tracking poll shows Mitt Romney up 50-47 on President Obama. This number is within the margin of error but marks the first time Romney has hit the 50 percent mark.

5. Windows 8 Debuts

Windows 8 launches today and is available for everyone to download and buy. Over 1,000 Windows 8 PCs will be released over the course of the next several weeks.
