Police in Snyder confirm that Friday night's shooting that left one woman dead and another in critical condition involved a father shooting his wife and daughter.

Police say 52-year-old James Smith shot his wife, 55-year-old Geannie Smith and his daughter, 26-year-old Mattie Smith around 9:40 Friday night.

Both women were taken to the local hospital in Snyder where Mattie Smith was pronounced dead.

Geannie Smith was taken to UMC in Lubbock by AeroCare where she remained in critical condition as of Sunday afternoon, according to Snyder Police Chief Terry Luecke.
