Tech Football Fans Already Breaking Records

Texas Tech's Football season opener is right around the corner and before they've played a game, it's already been a record breaking season.

Tomorrow marks one week until Texas Tech Football kicks off their season and no matter how it turns out, more Red Raider fans than ever will be cheering them on from the stands.

For the first time since the 1970's, Tech Football has their highest preseason ranking.

All season tickets, nearly 42,000 of them, are already sold out.

But there's still about 3,000 tickets available for Saturday's season opener against Eastern Washington University.

Associate Athletic Director Craig Wells says this will be a special season for the Red Raiders.

"We've been kind of building for this, Coach Leach has really put in the time along with all the players and I think this is what people have been waiting for," Wells says.

Wells says there are still tickets available for every Tech home game, except for when the Red Raiders take on the Texas Longhorns- that game is already sold out.
