As the kiddos suit up in their costumes and head out for Halloween

You better be ready at home with your candy for the trick-or-treaters.

There are many events going on around town tonight to provide parents and their children with a safer environment, including events at the South Plains Mall and the Science Spectrum.

But Lubbock police say  if you want to go door to door they'll have a close eye out on the streets tonight for your and your family.

The parents we spoke with say their fine with their children going door to door.

When we asked the trick-or-treaters what their favorite part of Halloween  was it didn't take them long to think of their answer...CANDY!
