1. Superstorm Sandy Death Toll Continues to Rise
The death toll in the U.S. after Superstorm Sandy rose to at least 90 on Thursday. Power outages now stand at over 3.9 million businesses and homes, down from 8.5 million earlier this week.
2. Statue of Liberty Close After Superstorm Sandy
The Statue of Liberty is closed indefinitely following Superstorm Sandy, the National Park Service confirmed to ABC News. Lady Liberty just reopened to the public on Sunday, the landmark's 126th anniversary, after undergoing a $30 million overhaul.
3. Forecasters Predict Nor'easter Early Next Week
Weather models are forecasting the possibility of a nor'easter next week as a system develops off the Carolinas Tuesday night and moves up off the east coast into New England. This storm is not projected to have the same intensity or high winds that Sandy did but could hamper recovery efforts from the superstorm.
4. Springsteen Says NJ Will Bounce Back
New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen says his home state will bounce back from the aftermath of Sandy during a stop on the Penn State campus Thursday. Springsteen thanked Gov. Chris Christie, the police, firefighters and other first responders for their response to the storm.
5. Shelton Is CMA Entertainer of Year
Blake Shelton took home the big prize of the night at the 46th Annual Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Thursday night, snagging the Entertainer of the Year award. Blake and his wife Miranda Lambert also became the first couple ever to win the CMA award for Song of the Year.
