There is a big rivalry in town this weekend and fans have already started tailgating.

"We already had Bloody Mary's on the way here," Melissa Spaid said.

It is the alcohol that gives just as much of a boost to the local economy as anything else.

"I think for a football weekend that's all part of the process," John Baylis said.

Stephen Locascoio is the manager of Bar PM and is opening a new bar tonight on Broadway-just in time for the biggest weekend of the year.

"Busiest weekend out of the whole year is UT weekend," Locascoio said. "I would almost say it doubles honestly."

Locascoio says the students normally spend a lot of money but this time of the year when loans start dwindling its all about the out of towners.

"Out of towners will come in and spend tons of money, because they plan for it," Locascoio said. "They want to have a good time whenever they travel. It's a mini vacation, so they'll spend at least that this weekend."

The average college students spends about $900 a year on alcohol but the out of towners we spoke with this morning say theyll spend that just this weekend.

Locascoio said the outcome of the game doesn't matter.

"Everybody just wants to drink more whether we win or lose," Locascoio said. "They like to celebrate or sulk."
