Making the Tough Call on 4th Down

On Saturday the Red Raiders suffered a very tough loss to the Texas Longhorns 31-22.

During that game, Texas Tech was only 4 of 14 converting 3rd downs, forcing Head Coach Tommy Tuberville to make some tough decisions on 4th down. But there are several factors that go in to deciding when to go for it and when to just go ahead kick it.
