Clovis Jail Escape

 New Mexico and Texas law enforcement are searching for seven violent offenders that escaped from the Curry County Adult Detention Facility Sunday night.

Eight inmates freed themselves by busting a hole through the ceiling and jumping from the roof.

One man was apprehended but federal, state and local agencies are now involved in major manhunt to find the other seven.

One of the men on the loose is convicted child killer Edward Salas.

Salas was waiting to be transported to another facility.

Nineteen-year-old Larry McClendon of Plainview is facing murder charges and is believed that he, with other escapees, could be on headed to the Lubbock/Plainview area.

All of  the escaped inmates are to be considered dangerous. If you have any information, you are encouraged to call local law enforcement immediately.

Police are looking for the following inmates.
