Bubba Sedeno Wins Lubbock County Commissioner, Precinct 3

For Sedeno, it has been a year and a half of campaigning. He won the primary election for the Democratic party, beating incumbent Gilbert Flores in a run-off.

The final results Tuesday were:
for Bubba Sedeno: 56.37% of the vote at 7,328 votes.
for Ysidro Gutierrez: 43.63% of the vote at 5,671 votes.

In September, in a forum hosted by the Guadalupe Neighborhood Association, the two faced off and both accused the others of personal attacks.  Gutierrez even claimed that Sedeno got violent, something Sedeno denied.

On Tuesday during last minute campaigning, Gutierrez spoke about that forum. "That is behind us, I think that we need to move forward to serve the people of Lubbock County and that is the important thing," said Gutierrez."I think we need to get on with taking care of the business of the people of Lubbock County."

In response to the claims Gutierrez made about Sedeno's family at the forum, Sedeno still defended his family. "That's my family,  and nobody messes with the family and I will defend them til the end, and I will defend the precinct three county people when I get elected in office," said Sedeno.

"This is not my win, this is a win for the people of Lubbock," said Sedeno after hearing the results Tuesday night at his victory party.
