Could Pot Be Legalized in Texas?

With Colorado being so close to Texas some are wondering if the legalization of marijuana is a trend that we soon might have the chance to vote on.

State representative Charles Perry said on his watch it's something we won't have to worry about.

Representative Perry said Colorado will be seeing numerous challengers after legalizing the drug because of federal laws that do not comply with what they passed and are inconsistent.

He said with the leadership we have in Texas today, or even in the next few session, the chances of legalizing marijuana for recreational use is slim to none.

Perry said that's because Texas is too conservative of a state to let is happen.

Until we have an active libertarian party in Texas, Perry said it wont even be able to be put on a ballot because it's a no win argument for our states legislature.

"In Texas, not on my watch specifically, but I don't see it being a popular mandate to bring forth the legislation," said Perry, "I don't see it getting through a committee."

Perry said there's also been great discussion around synthetic or designer drugs that are popping up across the state.

Some of those drugs even have deadly consequences which is why Perry said he will actively be engaged in those discussions.

He said it's something that shouldn't be allowed in our state.

This man must not see the amount of money marijuana will bring to the government. The only thing wrong with legalizing marijuana is that the FDA will put cancer causing chemicals in it like they did tobacco.

Arkansas is conservative and look how close medical pot came to passing, and that was before two giant dominos fell. If people knew the truth, a bunch of conservative beer drinkers would switch to pot if nothing else but to reduce the size of their pot belly.
